Updated March Madness 2017 Bracket: UNC advances to Final Four
A look at the updated 2017 NCAA Tournament bracket after North Carolina downs Kentucky for the final spot
The Final Four is set, after the last crazy weekend of NCAA Tournament basketball until next year. And what a weekend it was.
In the last game of the weekend, North Carolina outlast Kentucky in a classic game. In a crazy final sequence, Kentucky tied the game at 73, before one last basket from Luke Maye put away the win for the Tar Heels. UNC advanced to the Final Four for the second consecutive year, and will be looking to avenge its championship game loss.
South Carolina continued its run as a 7-seed, downing Baylor and Florida en route to the school’s first Final Four appearance. Since it was also the school’s first Elite Eight appearance, they’ll be making new history for the program with each victory. And it’s tough to bet against Frank Martin’s group right now.
And they’ll be taking on Gonzaga when they get there. Mark Few, after eighteen NCAA tournament appearances in nineteen years, has finally pushed his team through to the Final Four. The 1-seed Bulldogs are playing like one of the best teams in the country, and they’ll get what seems to be a favorable draw in 7th-seeded South Carolina for the right to play in the title game. Assumptions are dangerous in tournament ball, though, and they’ll certainly have to earn their way.

Oregon takes the last spot after downing Kansas with a hail of blocks and three-pointers. It’s the Ducks’ first Final Four appearance in the modern era, and their first shot at the Tournament’s Final Four since the 1940s. Their quick-twitch athleticism and top players have led them this far, and they could go even further.
With the Final Four now completely set, here’s a look at the updated 2017 NCAA Tournament bracket.
It’ll be one blue and a bunch of new blood in the Final Four, with one of the most wide open final weekends in recent memory. Can’t wait til we get there, and history is made – or augmented – for one of these great programs.
