As the Auburn Tigers wrap up spring football practice, the team prepares to play the annual A Day Game.

The 2017 college football season doesn’t begin for another six months, but Auburn football fans will soon have an opportunity to see the future of the program. The A Day Auburn spring football game will be held Saturday, April 8 at 1:00 p.m. ET at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Tigers fans will have their first look at new quarterback Jarrett Stidham, the former Baylor QB that transferred to Auburn after transferring in the fallout of Art Briles’ firing. Stidham, who threw for 12 touchdowns and 1,625 yards in 2015 as a true freshman with the Bears, is expected to compete with returning starter Sean White for the top job this fall.

It’s unclear if White, who suffered a broken forearm in the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma but has 17 career starts under his belt, will play in the spring game. He was held out of the Tigers live scrimmage March 25.

White is one of 18 returning starters for Auburn in 2017. The Tigers still have needs on defense, particularly on the defensive line, where they must replace potential first round draft pick Carl Lawson and defensive tackle Montravius Adams, as well as in the secondary, with Jonathan Ford and Josh Holsey graduated.

Also, offensive line starters Robert Leff and Alex Kozan are gone, as is last year’s leading receiver Tony Stevens. Replacing that trio is one of new offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey’s top priorities this spring.

The A Day spring game will be the final opportunity for fans to see the Tigers in live action prior to the September 2 season opener against Georgia Southern. Gates open at 11:00 a.m. ET, tickets are $5, and the game will be broadcast on SEC Network and the ESPN App.
