Get pumped up for the 2017 season with the MLB’s official hype video.
The 2017 MLB season promises to be a very exciting one. After the Chicago Cubs finally broke their curse by winning the 2016 World Series, they’ll be looking to defend their world title. It’s been over 100 years since people have been able to call them the defending champions.
However, a lot of teams are going to be gunning for them. Baseball has a lot of stars and most of them starred in a hype video for the 2017 season. See how many of them you can name.
This video revolves around stars showing off what they can do. Mike Trout is flipping over tires to prepare his body for the grind of the season. Clayton Kershaw makes an appearance blowing people away with his fastball. Giancarlo Stanton is winning people over by doing what he does best – hitting long home runs.
Mookie Betts, the 2016 runner up for AL MVP, has a cameo. Edwin Encarnacion makes an appearance, representing the Cleveland Indians. 80 percent of the vaunted New York Mets rotation, including Noah Syndergaard, Jacob deGrom, and Matt Harvey, are shown ready to feast. Bryce Harper takes an ice bath, preparing himself for the pain of the 2017 season.

This is vastly different from baseball’s previous strategies. And quite frankly, it’s a welcome change. It appears under commissioner Rob Manfred, baseball will be trying to appeal to younger fans. The demographic is one they’ve lost over the years. For once, the league is doing a good job showing off their elite talent.
More importantly, they’re showing them goofing around and having fun. Hopefully this is the beginning of something special because this is a refreshing change from previous years.
