A look at some of the top players still available in the 2017 recruiting class

The McDonald’s All American Game will tip-off on Wednesday night with six players who have yet to make a decision about where they will play their college basketball. All six are ranked as five-star, top 25 recruits, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, and all are being courted by some of the best programs in the nation.

Here’s a quick look at each of the six uncommitted prospects, where they’re considering and what they’ll bring to the table.

Note: All rankings are based on 247Sports’ composite ranking system. Class rankings follow the players name and position.

6. MJ Walker, SG, No. 22

MJ Walker is an 18-year old shooting guard out of Jonesboro, GA who has plenty of options left on his plate. In a recent interview with Scout, Walker listed Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Maryland, Ohio State, UCLA, UNLV and Maryland as potential college destinations. He said he plans to make a decision in April or May, but that’s he’s not in a rush. Experts at 247Sports currently predict that Walker will end up playing for the Seminoles where there will be plenty of minutes available with the likely departures of Xavier Rathan-Mayes, Dwayne Bacon and Jonathan Isaac for the NBA.

At 6-foot-5 with a big frame and plenty of athleticism, Walker excels getting to the basket and in transition. That size and athleticism — two physical traits that also made him a standout football player early on in high school — should mean there’s plenty of upside for him to grow into during his college career. Walker is at his best when he’s attacking opposing players, but still needs to develop the consistency of his jump shot, especially out to 3-point range.
