Isaiah Thomas refuses to jump against Giannis Antetokounmpo

Isaiah Thomas was forced to jump against Giannis Antetokounmpo on Wednesday night and, yeah, that wasn’t happening

Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the freakish young stars of the NBA currently rising up the ranks for the Milwaukee Bucks. Isaiah Thomas of the Boston Celtics is also one of the young stars to get excited about in the NBA. They have that in common, but one thing they do not share is size. You see, the Greek Freak comes in at 6-foot-11, while the guard Thomas is 5-foot-9.

So, it was quite the awkward moment on Wednesday night as the Bucks took on the Celtics when the two were forced to battle over a jump ball. With this predicament, Thomas could handle it one of two ways: he could have tried to give us one of the greatest moments in NBA history by making a Space Jam-like leap for the ball, or he could just say, “nah man” and cut his losses.

Probably wisely in the realistic world, he chose the latter.

Again, we gotta be realistic here. While Thomas isn’t really a hated figure in the NBA by any means, had he made the attempt against Giannis to get to the ball and hilariously failed, then he would more than likely have become the latest meme sensation on the internet. If anything, kudos to Thomas for being smart and probably realizing that would have been the case.

Isaiah Thomas is one of the smartest in the league when it comes to coming up the court with the basketball in his hands, and he’s also smart enough to know when to glide away before getting destroyed on a jump ball.
