Fourth Round

140

Jeremy McNichols

Running Back, Boise State Broncos

Paul Perkins might end up being a good player, but he can’t do it alone in the Giants backfield. New York needs to get another solid, midlevel running back to pair with Perkins now that Rashad Jennings is out of the equation in East Rutherford.

One guy that might be a great find for the Giants at No. 140 in the fourth round would be Boise State Broncos running back Jeremy McNichols. He left school a year early, but McNichols did enough in 2016 to make quite a name for himself in the strong Mountain West Conference.

Some weeks, he would carry the juggernaut Broncos offense. He was elusive near the goal-line and could make plays out of the backfield as a receiver. Frankly, he might be more of a feature back than Perkins is. Worst case scenario, they will challenge each other to get better by working in tandem.

If New York wants to push for the Super Bowl, they can’t rely exclusively on three-wide receiver sets on offense. A balanced rushing attack will do wonders for the New York offense. Improving the Giants’ running game improves a major bottleneck in this team’s construction and would make the whole team better. McNichols could be that guy in the fourth round for the Giants.
