The New Orleans Saints are bringing Chase Daniel back into the fold on a one-year deal, allowing him to return to his NFL origin city.

After being released by the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this offseason, quarterback Chase Daniel is finding out that what was once old is new again. Daniel has reportedly come to terms on a  one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints, the team that originally gave him a chance out of the University of Missouri back in 2009.

Daniel ,30, has not played much in his career despite going into his ninth pro season. He has thrown for a grand total of 480 yards for one touchdown and one interception. Now he goes to be a backup once more, continuing to get paid for intellect. Good for him.

Daniel went undrafted that year and was signed by the Washington Redskins. However, Washington cut Daniel, allowing him to sign with New Orleans to back up Drew Brees. Daniel spent four years in the Big Easy before signing a three-year, $10 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.

There, he backed up Alex Smith and got into 10 games, starting two of them. Last season, Daniel followed Doug Pederson from Kansas City to Philadelphia with the notion of backing up Sam Bradford. Once Bradford was traded, it became clear Daniel would start, only to see Carson Wentz jump him on the depth chart despite missing most of the preseason with a broken rib.
