The Dallas Cowboys signed star tight end to a four-year extension on Tuesday, locking him up through the 2021 NFL season.

Jason Witten, the Dallas Cowboys’ all-time leader in receptions, signed a four-year extension with the team on Tuesday. The deal will take Witten through the 2021 NFL season, where he will be 39-years old. Despite the fact he is turning 35 next season, Witten has been very productive later in his career, and second-year quarterback Dak Prescott has to be happy that his big target will be in Dallas likely for the remainder of his career.

Staying in the NFC East, the Philadelphia Eagles put another solid piece on their defensive line on Tuesday. The Birds signed veteran Chris Long, who is fresh off a Super Bowl victory as a member of the New England Patriots. Long signed a one-year deal with Philadelphia, and is slated to make around the same amount of money that  he made last season with the Pats.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater suffered a horrific injury prior to the NFL regular season last August, tearing his ACL, while dislocated his knee in a non-contact injury. Despite the fact that it will likely be a long time before he is under center, he did give the fans a bit of hope on Tuesday, posting a video of him moving and throwing to his private instagram. The Vikings will likely have to use Sam Bradford at quarterback once again in 2017, as the injury to Bridgewater has no real timetable for return.

In the AFC East, the New York Jets appear headed for a battle for the starting quarterback position. The Jets signed veteran Josh McCown last week, but have not commited to him being the starter in 2017. Instead, it will be a three-man race between McCown, Christian Hackenberg, and Bryce Petty, who made a handful of starts for the team last season. There is no real long-term answer among this group, and the team may just pick a quarterback at No. 6 overall in next month’s NFL Draft.

The Cleveland Browns pick twice in the first round in the 2017 NFL Draft, with one of those picks being the first overall selection. While there has been rumors that the team will trade the No. 12 pick, which they received by trading with the Philadelphia Eagles prior to last year’s draft, they will be holding onto the No. 1 pick. Head coach Hue Jackson said on Tuesday that the team will not be dealing the top pick, while also stating that consensus No. 1 selection Myles Garrett is a “tremendous player.”

Finally, the NFL actually banned the use of leaping over the line on kicks on Tuesday, while also approving instant ejections for head hits. In addition, the league also approved the use of centralized replays, and will wait to decide whether or not to shorten overtime to 10 minutes. It has been quite the week for the league, whose owners voted to allow the Oakland Raiders to move to Las Vegas on Monday.
