After a couple weeks off the air, Riverdale returns with a new episode on Thursday night. An hour that finds the gang to various dangerous situations, dealing with the Southside Serpents, and a joint Cooper/Blossom baby shower.
It is finally time to return to the mysterious new town obsessed with maple syrup. The back half of Riverdale‘s first season begins on Thursday with episode 8, “The Outsiders.” But first, a quick recap of what happened during the last new episode seeing as it has been three weeks.
Everyone is searching for Polly after her great escape. The Coopers want to lock Polly back up and then put her baby with Jason up for adoption. For the Blossoms, they want to find Polly because they believe she killed Jason. However, their tune changes when they learn Polly is pregnant as they want to raise the baby. That also means getting Polly out of the picture.
With both the Blossoms and Coopers differing opinions on what Polly should do with her baby, the episode ends with Polly hiding out at the Lodges. This week will see the Coopers and Blossoms maybe tolerating each other at least for a bit.
From the promotional photos, it looks like there will be a baby shower for Polly in this episode. And both future grandmother with be in attendance at Hermione and Veronica’s apartment. It also looks like there will be some more crazy Alice Cooper. This time, she appears to be yelling at a few of the kids in the lounge at the school.

"THE BEST LAID PLANS — As Fred (Luke Perry) and his crew are about to start construction he loses his crew, which could put his livelihood in jeopardy. Wanting to help his dad, Archie (KJ Apa) and his friends pitch in to help but after one of them is attacked, the gang comes up with a plan that lands them in Southside Serpent territory. With Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) secret revealed, he is worried about how his friends will react. Meanwhile, Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) suggest throwing Polly (guest star Tiera Skovbye) a baby shower to make her feel better, but Polly is hesitant knowing how everyone feels."
In non-baby drama, Archie trying to help his dad will lead to him and his friends crossing paths with the Southside Serpents. After having to reveal the truth about where he was living last episode, Jughead will now be forced to reveal a second family secret: that F.P. is a Serpent.

Hopefully, with Jughead’s dad playing a role in this episode as well, maybe there will be some hints as to the last scene of episode 7. That Jason Blossom’s letterman jacket is on F.P.’s closet. It is probably too early in the season for a direct answer, but a couple of hints would be nice.
