DraftKings NHL Picks:
Ondrej Palat – TB (W) – $5400
Tampa Bay will play host to the visiting Detroit Red Wings tonight. Tampa Bay is currently a -204 favorite and is projected to score 3.3 goals. Ondrej Palat has been red hot, recording 12 points in his last 10 games. Part of this can be attributed to his increase in playing time. For the month, Palat is averaging 21.73 minutes per game, up almost 3 minutes from his yearly average of 18.92 minutes per game. These kind of usage increases are extremely valuable, as sites like DraftKings can be late to adjust pricing accordingly.

Patrice Bergeron – BOS (C) – $6700
Boston has the best projected team total on the slate, of 3.6 goals. Patrice Bergeron will soak up close to 20 minutes of playing time, skating on both the top line and top powerplay unit. Begeron his a high volume shooter, averaging 4.08 shots per game this month. Bergeron’s safety, via shots on goal, makes him a viable cash game option, and the matchup tonight, makes him a tournament option as well.
Blake Wheeler – WPG (W) – $6600
Blake Wheeler is another high volume shooter, averaging 3.23 shots on goal per game. Wheeler is playing over 20 minutes per game, and will come at a discounted price of only $6600 tonight. Winnipeg doesn’t have the best matchup in the world, but players like Wheeler have the ability to accrue fantasy production regardless of the matchup.
Torey Krug – BOS (D) – $5100
If you’re looking to get more exposure to the B’s tonight, consider defenseman, Torey Krug. Krug is moderately priced tonight, and will have upside given his time on the top powerplay unit and Boston’s projected team total of 3.6 goals. Krug also provides a solid floor through his peripheral scoring. Over the past 30 days, Krug has averaged 2.46 shots and 1.46 blocks per game.
Ryan Ellis – NAS (D) – $5000
Ryan Ellis is another mid range defenseman to consider, if you’re looking to save on salary. Ellis doesn’t have tremendous upside, but his shots and blocks allow him to reach value quite frequently. Ellis is averaging 2.27 shots and 2.27 blocks per game this month. Given that he’s able to reach value on just these forms of scoring alone, any goal or assist would be an added bonus.
Best of luck!
