6) SEC announces SEC Appreciation Day

“It just means more” was a colossal failure last year as the usually stout SEC had a down season. Their slogan became a punchline for any big loss the SEC suffered and the brand took a big hit. Of course, SEC exceptionalism isn’t down for long and the people at the top of the conference had a great idea for how to bring it back. An entire day devoted to the SEC — an SEC Appreciation Day. This will happen right after spring ball ends during that usual dead period when summer practices are all anybody has to look forward to.

To start, the SEC Network will play their greatest hits on non-stop loop for 24 hours. 10 of the 24 hours will be related to Alabama. Eight of them Tim Tebow. The conference will tweet out a different SEC related highlight every five minutes with constant reminders of SEC Appreciation Day. News outlets will be forced to cover the appreciation day, further increasing their chokehold on the sport as a whole. Cries of the day being overrated will ring out across the internet, but they won’t be heard over the constant SEC chants playing out across the southern region of the country — and College Station.

Paul Finebaum will cap everything off with a 24-hour show that is entirely devoted to him pointing out every championship the SEC has won, and reviewing years worth of conference games in excruciating detail. Vanderbilt and Kentucky will only be mentioned in games they lost as is SEC tradition.
