Jamal Adams

S, LSU

The San Francisco 49ers are trying to erase the stink that has been their franchise over the past few seasons, as they brought in a new head coach and general manager this offseason. The deals with Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch are for six years, meaning they are committed to this duo turning around the fortunes of the organization. As they head to their first NFL Draft, there is plenty of speculation as to where they will go with the No. 2 overall pick.

While some believe that they will bring in a big body up front, like Jonathan Allen or Solomon Thomas, we believe that they cannot pass up Jamal Adams at No. 2. Adams has the ability to be a playmaking safety in the NFL, and he would anchor a defensive secondary that needs to be revamped. Lynch is a former safety himself, you could definitely see him going with a player who plays the position that made him a Hall of Famer during his time in the NFL.

The 49ers need a quarterback, though they do have a stopgap at the position in Brian Hoyer. Hoyer was with Shanahan during their time with the Cleveland Browns, so there is familiarity there. Look for San Francisco to possibly go after a DeShone Kizer in the second round, but with their first round pick, the defensive side of the ball is the way to go.
