2017 NFL Mock Draft: Browns bolster roster
By Brad Weiss
The Chicago Bears said goodbye to Jay Cutler this offseason, as they just could not take his inconsistent play any longer. In 2017, Mike Glennon will be the team’s quarterback, as the signed a $45 million dollar deal with not much guaranteed money this offseason. It remains to be seen if he is in fact the long-term answer at the position, but we do not feel they will add to the quarterback position with the No. 3 overall pick.
The pick for the Bears at three should be Solomon Thomas, who is so good that he may actually be gone by the time Chicago picks. Thomas has the ability to play in any defensive scheme, and plays with the kind of fire that Chicago Bears fans have come to expect from their defense. The Bears have some solid young players on offense, and in Thomas, they would have a young player to anchor the defensive line for years to come.
It is certain to be an interesting year in the Windy City, as all eyes are going to be on Glennon at the quarterback position. The offense is going to be based around their star running back, Jordan Howard, who had an incredible rookie season in 2016. If they can run the ball effectively, and play good defense, they should be much improved over a 2016 season that saw them be the laughingstock of the NFC North.
