Leonard Fournette

RB, LSU

If you are a Jacksonville Jaguars fan, you have to be happy with the offseason they are having. First, they brought back Tom Coughlin, the winningest coach in franchise history to run the franchise from the front office. Then they went out and solidified their defense, signing players like cornerback A.J. Bouye, and defensive end Calais Campbell. As they head to next month’s draft, it is possible they add an offensive weapon to the mix.

While T.J. Yeldon has some promise at the running back position, and Chris Ivory is a solid backup, the Jags need an elite player back there. Quarterback Blake Bortles took a major step backwards last season, and the organization is no longer committed to him being the long-term answer at the position. The Jags need to be able to run the ball with consistency next season, and Leonard Fournette could bring the kind of playmaking ability they have been lacking from the position.

Fournette can do it all, possessing the ability to run around, or over defenders. During his time at LSU, he established himself as one of the best players in college football, and is the highest ranked player at his position in this draft. The Jags are going to be vastly improved over last season, and with Fournette, they would add a player who can take a ton of pressure off of Bortles in a very important year for the signal-caller.
