After failing his physical with the team, the Miami Dolphins have parted ways with former No. 3 overall pick in defensive end Dion Jordan.

The first round of the 2013 NFL Draft will be one that will live infamy. It hasn’t even been four years, but the busts coming out of that first round are continuing to mount. One player picked in the top five, pass rusher Dion Jordan, seems to be one of those guys.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that “the [Miami] Dolphins have waived defensive end Dion Jordan due to a failed physical.” Jordan hasn’t played for the Dolphins since 2014.

He may be the biggest bust of that 2013 NFL Draft.

Miami traded up from No. 12 to No. 3 to draft Jordan out of Oregon in 2013. While he played all 16 games of his rookie year in 2013, his career started to derail in 2014 because of performance enhancing substances.

Jordan was suspended for the first four games of 2014 for a positive test. He violated the NFL’s PED policy for a second time that season to receive another two-game suspension. Jordan would be suspended for the entire 2015 season for a diluted test, and though he was reinstated for 2016 with Miami, he didn’t appear in a game.

Miami is in a different place than when Jordan first arrived in South Beach in 2013. The Dolphins are coming off their first playoff berth in eight years. They should be able to get back into the AFC Wild Card mix with the roster they currently have in place. Miami has been able to find itself without Jordan doing anything in their front seven.

With the news of another failed physical, this could mean the end for Jordan’s short but once-promising NFL career. Should he get another option to play in the NFL, it won’t be in Miami.
