DraftKings NHL Picks: March 31st Daily Top Plays
DraftKings NHL Picks: March 31st
Tonight’s slate features seven games, with Washington (3.6), New York (3.2), St. Louis (3.1), and Chicago (3), holding the best projected team totals. I’ll be targeting players from these teams in cash. Here are my DraftKings NHL picks.
PIT vs. NYR (-125), O/U: 5.5
NJD vs. NYI (-190), O/U: 5.5
CLB vs. CHI (-145), O/U: 5.5
SJ vs. CGY (-135), O/U: 5
STL (-235) vs. COL, O/U: 5
WAS (-305) vs. ARI, O/U: 5.5
LA (-165) vs. VAN, O/U: 5
DraftKings NHL Picks:
Alex Ovechkin – WAS (W) – $8500
The Capitals will be on the road tonight, but given their matchup, it may not matter. Washington is a -305 favorite and has a projected team total of 3.6 goals, the highest on the slate. Arizona gives up the second most shots on goal in the league, at 33.9 per game. Alex Ovechkin may be worth paying up for tonight, given the matchup. Ovechkin is averaging a league high 4.86 shots on goal per game, this month. Even with the expensive price tag, Ovechkin is meeting or exceeding value in nearly every game.

Alex Pietrangelo – STL (D) – $5900
Alex Pietrangelo is one of the more intriguing value plays on defense tonight. St. Louis has a favorable matchup against the Aves, and Pietrangelo will offer an appealing combination of safety and upside. Pietrangelo is averaging 2.86 shots and 1.93 blocks per game. His peripheral scoring provides an adequate floor in cash games, and given his total time on the ice, and time on the top powerplay unit, he should be in play in tournaments, as well.
Artemi Panarin – CHI (W) – $6200
Chicago currently holds a team total of 3 goals, and Artemi Panarin could take advantage of that. Panarin is able to reap the benefits of playing alongside of Patrick Kane, on Chicago’s second line. Over the last 30 days, Panarin has averaged 19.45 minutes per game and 3.07 shots per game.
Alexander Edler – VAN (D) – $4000
Alexander Edler is a pretty common pick, as long as he continues to be underpriced on DraftKings. While his salary has risen slightly, he still offers value through his shot and block volume. Edler is averaging 2.29 shots and 2.07 blocks per game this month. His upside may be capped, playing on the Canucks, but he’s a good bet to meet value at this price.
