The NBA has a solid 11 games of action on Friday night. Line-ups lock at 7:00 p.m. ET with two games: the Nuggets at the Hornets and the Pacers at the Raptors. Thirty minutes later, the Magic tip a the Celtics and the 76ers at the Cavaliers. Five games go at 8:00, including the Pistons at the Bucks, the Knicks a the Heat, the Spurs at the Thunder, the Kings at the Pelicans and the Mavericks at the Grizzlies. The Wizards and Jazz tip at 9:00, and finally, the late game is the Rockets at the Warriors.
Some things I’ll be watching for on Friday night: the Warriors and Rockets just had a shootout on Tuesday, and they’ll be facing off yet again with all of that firepower in one place … can the Rockets keep it from being a blowout for long enough for everyone to maximize their numbers? The Spurs at the Thunder is another marquee match-up in a similar mold, a current top-2 MVP favorite takes his less talented team up against a top-2 MVP finisher from last year with a stronger cast. In this case, can Russell Westbrook continue his numbers assault against an elite Spurs defense? The Cavaliers have been spiraling, but a game against the 76ers could be the cure for what ails them, so I’d expect a blowout …unless things are REALLY bad. The Kings and Hornets are tied together by the huge trade this season, and the break did not seem amicable, so Friday could be a revenge day for DeMarcus Cousins. And that’s only about a third of the games — there’s just a lot of action on Friday.
My favorite plays of the day can be found on the following slides in FanSided’s FanDuel daily picks. Each day in order to offer a variety of price points at each position, you can find two slides for each position: one for high-salary options and one for high-value options. Each pick is ranked on a scale of 1-5 stars to indicate the confidence in the pick. The final slide of this post has more detail on what each level means, but in short, more stars means more confidence in the selection on a points-per-dollar basis.
Important note:, every day the goal of this post is not to give you a copy-and-paste lineup. Instead, each selection is given while highlighting the factors you need to consider when building a customized lineup for yourself. If you want to see an example lineup, you can find it on the final slide of the post, but I suggest you adjust your lineup to fit your personal taste.
To keep up with all of FanSided’s DFS NBA coverage, head over to the fantasy basketball hub where each day you can find a post like this tailored for FanDuel as well as one specifically designed for usage on DraftKings. In this post, all salary and “fantasy points” references are to FanDuel scoring system and salaries.
