Tiger Woods pulls out of the Masters yet again.
It’s been almost 10 years since Tiger Woods infamously took on Rocco Mediate in a playoff round for the ages. Woods, playing on one leg, held off Mediate to win that U.S Open. It was the summer of 2008, and it was the last time Tiger won a Major.
Nobody knew it at the time, but this was the last time Woods was ever going to be that dominant tournament figure. The imposing force on Sundays, red shirt and black pants, has gone nowhere but down since.
A private life of affairs embarrassingly exposed to the public, constant injuries, and a decline in his game has left Woods a shell of what he once was. The man is still there, but is the golfer? That’s hard to say.
He’s had numerous injury-related breaks and comebacks, and this year’s Masters was supposed to be his first since 2015. After playing two rounds of a tune-up tournament in January, Woods pulled out due to yet another injury. He’s now pulled out of this year’s Masters.
Woods has only played two rounds of golf since 2015. The last time he was consistently golfing without setbacks was 2013. Sadly, this might be more than the end of the dominant Tiger we once knew. This might be the end of Tiger’s golfing career.
He can’t get on the course for extended periods of time and injuries have constantly set him back. It’s sad to see a golfer that was once the most dominant player the sport has ever seen reduced to forcing himself to comeback after comeback.

I want Tiger to be healthy again. I want him to play golf again. It would be nice to see him win one more Major for old times sake. Something to rekindle that old feeling from nine years ago. Sadly, it looks like that won’t be happening anytime soon. Maybe ever.
