Find out the stage lengths for the races at Martinsville Speedway this weekend as two of NASCAR’s top series visit the historic short track.

NASCAR drivers, teams and fans have had a chance to get accustomed to stage racing after several weeks of the 2017 season, but Martinsville Speedway will introduce the concept to short tracks for the first time.

The Camping World Truck Series, which has been off for several weeks, will be the first to put stages to the test on Saturday afternoon in the Alpha Energy Solutions 250. Naturally, in terms of the number of laps, these will be the longest initial stages seen so far thanks to the half-mile Martinsville layout.

That goes for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series as well, which hasn’t seen initial stages of more than 100 laps to date. Not so on Sunday, when teams will have to go triple-digit laps before seeing the green and white checkered flag for the first time in the STP 500.

Here are the stage lengths for both series racing this weekend at Martinsville Speedway, courtesy of NASCAR.com:

Camping World Truck Series Alpha Energy Solutions 250 stage lengths

  • Stage 1 ends on Lap 70
  • Stage 2 ends on Lap 140
  • The final stage ends on Lap 250, barring overtime, for a length of 110 laps.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series STP 500 stage lengths

  • Stage 1 ends on Lap 130
  • Stage 2 ends on Lap 260
  • The final stage ends on Lap 500, barring overtime, for a length of 240 laps.

Cup Series points leader Kyle Larson has taken full advantage of the points awarded in stages, leading the way with 70 points earned that way so far. Chase Elliott is second with 63 stage points, while Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick are tied for the lead in stage wins — which are good for a bonus playoff point should the driver qualify — with three apiece.
