The South Carolina Gamecocks will hold their annual Garnet and Black spring game on Saturday. Here is how to watch the intra-squad scrimmage online.
We’re at that point of the year where some of the biggest brands in college football will be holding their annual spring games. The South Carolina Gamecocks began spring practice in early March and will hold their annual Garnet and Black Game on Saturday, Apr. 1.
No joke. Kickoff from Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia has been moved two hours from 2:00 p.m. ET to 12:00 p.m. ET to accommodate for the Gamecocks’ men’s basketball team playing the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the NCAA Tournament’s Final Four in Phoenix. The SEC Network will have the telecast and the available live stream can be found on WatchESPN.
2017 will be head coach Will Muschamp’s second season in Columbia. He helped an underdog South Carolina team go 6-7 (3-5) in his first year with the program. Big wins in SEC play over division rivals Missouri, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt help South Carolina reach what was an improbable bowl game.
With the SEC East being wide open, South Carolina could have the defense to hang tough in SEC play. The Gamecocks will need more good things out of second-year starting quarterback Jake Bentley, as well as a strong ground game courtesy of A.J. Turner and Ty’Son Williams, both redshirt sophomores.

The decision to move up the Garnet and Black game from 2:00 p.m. ET to 12:00 p.m. ET was the right call. South Carolina could not have foreseen its No. 7 seeded men’s team reach the Final Four. The Sweet 16 was definitely in play, but big wins over Baylor and Florida were unexpected.
