The NBA has 11 games on Sunday spread throughout the day, but FanDuel has seven games scheduled for the main DFS fantasy basketball contests. Get your team in the game with FanSided’s FanDuel daily picks.
The NBA has a split schedule on Sunday, with four early games and seven on the main schedule. As always, the Main contest slate will be the primary focus of this article. The early games, the Hornets at the Thunder at 3:00 PM ET, the Grizzlies at the Lakers, the Mavericks at the Bucks, and the Jazz at the Spurs at 3:30 PM ET are on the FanDuel “Early” schedule. For my advice on those games, check here.
Line-ups lock for the “Main” game schedule at 6:00 PM ET with five games: the Nuggets at the Heat, the 76ers at the Raptors, the Bulls at the Pelicans, the Pacers at the Cavaliers and the Hawks at the Nets. Two hours later, the Wizards tip at the Warriors in Oakland. Finally, at 9:00 PM ET, the Rockets play at the Suns in the late game.
There are interesting match-ups and storylines in every game on Sunday. Nikola Jokic vs Hassan Whiteside should be fun in Miami; Jimmy Butler and Rajon Rondo have become a dynamic duo in Chicago, but they’ll be testing a team with a real elite duo in Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins. James Harden leads a Rockets team needing to break a losing stretch into Phoenix to face a young team that loves to run and shoot, which should be right up his alley. John Wall and Bradley Beal get to try their high-scoring pairing against Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, but the Warriors have a Draymond Green chaser that the Wizards may lack. Dwight Howard has played well lately, but he’s never loved huge centers like Brook Lopez…if Lopez even plays on the second half of a back-to-back. The 76ers are still scrappy, but it seems like they shut down another player for the season every day. Finally, LeBron James and the Cavs are trying to find themselves, and get to contend with a Paul George-led Pacers team. Should be interesting action, and probably lots of fantasy points on the day.
My favorite plays of the day can be found on the following slides in FanSided’s FanDuel daily picks. Each day in order to offer a variety of price points at each position, you can find two slides for each position–one for high-salary options and one for high-value options. Each pick is ranked on a scale of 1-5 stars to indicate the confidence in the pick. The final slide of this post has more detail on what each level means, but in short, more stars means more confidence in the selection on a points-per-dollar basis.
Important note, every day the goal of this post is not to give you a copy-and-paste lineup. Instead, each selection is given while highlighting the factors you need to consider when building a customized lineup for yourself. If you want to see an example lineup, you can find it on the final slide of the post, but I suggest you adjust your lineup to fit your personal taste.
To keep up with all of FanSided’s DFS NBA coverage head over to the fantasy basketball hub where each day you can find a post like this tailored for FanDuel as well as one specifically designed for usage on DraftKings. In this post, all salary and “fantasy points” references are to FanDuel scoring system and salaries.
