After you see him at WrestleMania this weekend, look for Goldberg to pop up in a much different capacity a few weeks from now.
Bill Goldberg is the current WWE Universal Champion, though he may not hold that distinction after WrestleMania 33 in Orlando tonight. Fortunately, he already has his next gig lined up.
Bristol Motor Speedway announced this week that Goldberg will drive the pace car for the Food City 500 when the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series makes its spring stop at the half-mile track on Sunday, April 23. The former football player turned pro wrestling star is certainly no stranger to fast rides, having hosted the Bullrun TV series on Spike for several years.
And even though Goldberg gas mentioned being not that happy during his current WWE run — a comment he’s since clarified, explaining that it’s simply not that fun to put a 50-year old body through the training necessary to look like he does, which is probably true — he sounds legitimately happy to return to Bristol, where he hosted driver introductions in 2015 and 2016.
"“My first NASCAR experience occurred at Bristol Motor Speedway, so it only makes sense to keep coming back,” said Goldberg, who is the only wrestler in history to have won the WWE Universal, WWE World Heavweight and WCW World Heavyweight titles. “I can’t wait to drive the official pace car and lead the Food City 500 field to the green flag. It’s going to be one of the coolest experiences of my life.”"
Goldberg will also host fan meet and greets and be a part of other pre-race festivities at Bristol Motor Speedway. The best way to see or meet him might be with the Pre-Race Superpass the track has on sale now.

In any case, the track officials should at least feel secure that no one will mess with their pace car driver. A spear and Jackhammer will surely follow, and getting those on Bristol’s high banks doesn’t sound like much fun.
