WWE WrestleMania 33 results: Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal full video highlights
WWE WrestleMania 33 results and highlights from the annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Call it a way to get more people on the show if you want, but the institution of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal was a fantastic idea by WWE. We’ve seen Baron Corbin, Big Show and Cesaro all win The Andre before. However, the stakes somehow felt higher at WWE WrestleMania 33 in Orlando.
Right out of the gate on Sunday night on the Kickoff show, it was Braun Strowman and Big Show absolutely clearing the ring as the two biggest men in the match. But after several eliminations apiece, they finally came face to face in the middle of the squared circle. But before they could come to blows, the rest of the remaining superstars all attempted to go after each of them.
Strowman, however, fought all of them off and came over to take The World’s Largest Athlete out. After doing so, though, the rest of the participants were able to turn their focus on Braun. Thus, he couldn’t overcome over 20 other men simultaneously and was dumped over the top rope.
With the two behemoths out of the ring, though, it was time for some star-making performances. Sami Zayn was big as he helped to take out numerous other participants. However, the surprising force was Killian Dain of NXT, a surprise entrant. He eliminated both members of American Alpha (with some help), and was force to be reckoned with.
One of the other big stories from the match was Tian Bing, the Chinese import making his debut. He had a strong showing, but ultimately couldn’t last to get the enormous win in his debut.
As the numbers continued to dwindle, Mojo Rawley then started to come on strong. He threw Dolph Ziggler over the top rope, which was followed by Titus O’Neil ousting Luke Harper. However, Titus was then taken out by Zayn, who was then tossed by Dain.
The final three then came down to Mojo, Jinder Mahal and Dain. Mojo was sent to the outside, but through the second rope. That then brought the action in front of Rawley’s friend, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. Mahal then got in his face, took his drink and then threw it in his face. Gronk was displeased and then ripped off his Mojo shirt and got in the ring. Once in there, he lined up a 3-point stance and leveled Mahal. With Mahal stunned, Rawley then came back in and took out Dain.
Mahal then though he had the upper hand to take out Mojo, but he got caught and just held on after going over the top rope. He couldn’t get Rawley up to suplex him to the floor, though. Subsequently, Mojo was able to body him and send him to the floor for the final elimination in the win.
