New York Giants defensive end Owa Odighizuwa has decided to call it quits after only two seasons
In 2015, the Giants spent a third round pick Owa Odighizuwa has decided to step away from football. Odighizuwa took to twitter to announced his retirement.
It remains to be seen whether this retirement will be for the long term. The former UCLA product has not done much in his brief NFL career to this point as he was in danger of making the Giants 53-man roster in 2017. Odighizuwa did not recorded a sack in his two-year NFL career.
Odighizuwa, 25, has not recorded a sack in his two-year NFL career. He was only on the field for 15 percent of the defensive snaps in 2016.
Odigizuwa has two years remaining on his rookie contract so he could conceivably return to the Giants next season. Health didn’t seem to be the driving force for this decision either. Outside of dealing with a hamstring injury late in the 2016 season, Odigizuwa has been relatively healthy.
