The Seattle Mariners start the 2017 season against the Houston Astros. Here’s what you need to know to watch the game on TV and online.

It’s Opening Day for Major League Baseball and it’s time to kick off the 2017 season with the Seattle Mariners visiting the Houston Astros.

The Seattle Mariners have been working in the offseason to be strong competition for the Texas Rangers. The Mariners finished the 2016 season with an 86-76 record, good for second place in the American League West and nine games back from the first-place Rangers. They had a strong showing at spring training with a 19-14 record, and the team is healthy, so they’re getting a good start to the 2017 season.

The Houston Astros finished 2016 just two games behind the Mariners, with an 84-78 record and in third place in the AL West. They finished spring training with a 15-15 record, and the team is ready to get into the top half of the division in 2017.

The Mariners will have Felix Hernandez on the mound to start the season. Hernandez was 11-8 in 2016 with a 3.82 ERA through 153.1 innings of work. Cy Young winning lefty Dallas Keuchel gets the start for the Astros. Keuchel was 9-12 in 2016 with a 4.55 ERA, throwing 144 strikeouts in 166 innings of work. Last year was a bit of a slump for Keuchel after dealing with a rotator cuff injury that bogged him down. His last outing wasn’t great, but he seems to be on the mend.
