The Cleveland Indians start the 2017 season against the Texas Rangers. Here’s what you need to know to watch the game on TV and online.

It’s Opening Day for Major League Baseball and it’s time to kick off the 2017 season with the ALCS champion Cleveland Indians visiting the Texas Rangers.

This will be the first time that the Indians will meet up with Mike Napoli after passing on him to sign Edwin Encarnacion. The Indians want to get back to the World Series this year and kept the majority of their roster intact in 2017, but they spent a lot of time and money bolstering their pitching rotation and their bullpen in hopes of having enough depth to be as strong in September as they are at the start of the season.

The Rangers finished the season 95-67 in 2016, putting them atop the AL West. With so many postseason contenders in the American League, it’s tough to break through but the Rangers have a chance to get back to the postseason behind the strength of their bullpen.

Indians ace Corey Kluber is in the top spot on the Cleveland pitching rotation, and he’ll be on the mound for the team on Opening Day. Kluber was 18-9 in 2016 with an ERA of 3.14. Yu Darvish gets the start for the Rangers. Darvish had a strong season last year, with a 3.41 ERA and a 7-5 record.

Both of these teams have a strong chance of making it back to the postseason. Cleveland wants it because they lost to the Cubs, and the Rangers want it because they have been playing well and they’re due for a championship. With that kind of motivation, look for a strong start to the season for both teams.
