It’s Opening Day, and Colorado Rockies are in Milwaukee to play the hometown Brewers to begin the 2017 MLB season.

A pair of first-time Opening Day starters are scheduled to face off in Milwaukee as the Colorado Rockies and Milwaukee Brewers meet to open the 2017 season. Rockies right-hander Jon Gray finished sixth in the voting for the National League Rookie of the Year Award after he posted a 10-10 record and 4.61 ERA with 185 strikeouts in 168 innings last season.

Along with Gray, the Rockies lineup features superstars Nolan Arenado and Carlos Gonzalez, as well as defending NL batting champion D.J. LeMahieu and rising stars Charlie Blackmon and Trevor Story. The talented group, as well as newcomer Ian Desmond (who is out with a broken hand) and a revamped bullpen, is expected to compete for an NL Wild Card spot following a 75-87 season last year.
