Adrian Peterson still has no home for the 2017 NFL season, but he is reportedly scheduled to visit the Patriots on Monday.
At one time, Adrian Peterson was the best running back in the NFL, and every team would have loved to have his services. Peterson, 32, is having a hard time finding a market, though he may be getting closer. Peterson will visit the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots on Monday, which will be his second visit of this free agency period. He visited the Seattle Seahawks in mid-March, but the team walked away without any deal being struck.
Case Keenum does have a home for 2017, as he signed on to be the backup in Minnesota for next season. The former Rams starter will play backup to Sam Bradford, who was brought in during the preseason in 2016 due to a knee injury to Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater’s career status is still up in the air, as he not only tore his ACL but dislocated his knee in a non-contact injury last August.
The 49ers continue to add running backs, as they signed their third back of this free agency period. In the same week that saw them sign DuJuan Harris, the 49ers also brought in Tim Hightower, who proved to be a valuable backup to Mark Ingram for the Saints last season. Hightower rushed for over 500 yards and four touchdowns last season and will join newly acquired Kyle Juszczyk, Harris, and starter Carlos Hyde in a now-crowded 49ers backfield.
Finally, the Dolphins have run out of patience for NFL Draft bust Dion Jordan. Jordan was the No. 3 overall pick of the Dolphins back in 2013, but has not played in an NFL game since 2014. The former Oregon Duck has battled substance abuse issues during his time in the NFL, and while he may end up getting a chance with another franchise, his time as a member of the Dolphins is officially over.
