Richard Sherman might not be on the Seattle Seahawks when the season starts this fall.

Richard Sherman is the star cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks and he has recently emerged as a possible trade asset for the Seahawks. Even though he is the best thing that the Seahawks have at cornerback, he has been the big player in the recent NFL trade rumors.

When Sherman was first addressed about the rumors, he just laughed it off. He said that he doesn’t let things like that bother him. But, per NBC’s ProFootballTalk, Sherman is now taking the rumors a little more seriously. This quote from Sherman leads me to believe he is taking the possibility of a trade seriously: “I wouldn’t want to leave this city and my guys, but I understand it’s a business and organizational philosophies change.”

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the five teams where Sherman will have the biggest impact.

5. Detroit Lions

The Lions are in a bit of a conundrum right now. They have major holes that they need to fill in order to succeed but it doesn’t seem like they are in any rush to correct their holes. They did fix their offensive line in the offseason, adding T.J. Lang and Ricky Wagner to their offensive line. Those guys will be able to protect Matthew Stafford who was sacked 37 times last season.

Although they did make the much-needed improvements to their offensive line, they need to upgrade their defense. Some players last year did receive some unexpected playing time like linebacker Antwione Williams.

Sherman can add some stardom and depth to their secondary. The Lions’ defense ranked 19th last season in quarterback yards per game at 248.4. The Lions secondary could use a star player to spice up their play and if a young player is added from the draft, like cornerback Gareon Conley, they can easily shoot up the ranks.
