RAW Women’s Championship Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match

Bayley (c) vs. Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax

What we learned: I think we learned here that WWE is ready to keep on rolling with the Bayley train.

I really dug the psychology at the start of the match as Charlotte, Bayley and Sasha teamed up on Nia Jax, even if it didn’t work out at the very beginning as they made sure that Nia looked really strong here. She got in some dominating offense that did what it was supposed to do but the numbers game just got to be too much for her as she would eventually take a nice double suplex from Bayley and Sasha before all three women powerbombed her to knock her from the match. Good start.

I was hoping that the three-way battle would turn into something like we saw last year from Becky, Charlotte and Sasha but it just never did. Sure, Charlotte wowed once again with that corkscrew moonsault but that was the highlight. They teased Bayley and Sasha getting into it just before that when Banks accidentally hit her friend but it never went anywhere and Sasha was gone just a few minutes later, much to the dismay of the Orlando crowd. That left Bayley and Charlotte to battle it out again and while it was okay, it never reached that next level and the match as a whole was extremely disappointing. But Bayley got her big WrestleMania moment and retained her title so I’m sure that made a lot of people happy.

What’s next: Given the fact that the entire women’s division on RAW revolves around these four, one of them is going to have to get a title shot at Payback. Perhaps we’ll get a triple threat number one contender’s match soon, or could a new contender emerge to face Bayley in her hometown of San Jose later this month? Emma, anyone? Okay, probably not, but I can dream, right?
