RAW Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Ladder Match

Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (c) vs. Cesaro & Sheamus vs. Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. The Hardy Boyz

What we learned: We obviously learned here that The Hardy Boyz have signed a new deal with WWE.

In one of the real highlights of WrestleMania 33, The New Day came out before this one got going to announce that a fourth team had been added to this ladder match for the tag titles. While it was thought for a second that it might just be them, The Hardy Boyz’ music hit and the Citrus Bowl went absolutely bananas as “DELETE” chants rang throughout the stadium as Matt and Jeff made their way down to the ring. Very cool moment.

As for the match itself, this was a little shorter than some of the ladder matches of the past but they got a lot done in the time they had out there. The Hardys were extremely (yep, pun completely intended) dominant from the get-go as they hit most of their signature stuff early on to get the advantage but everybody would get in on the action at some point with some pretty great spots. Cesaro and Sheamus got the crowd fired up as the Swiss Superman swung Karl Anderson while the big Irishman gave about 25 shots to Luke Gallows’ chest. I really liked Cass throwing Enzo over those two ladders on the outside and Enzo nearly getting the titles at one point as Corey Graves said this would be the best and worst day of his career if that happened was gold.

It’s also nice to see non-teammates working together in matches like this and Gallows and Sheamus did just that when they hit a big powerbomb on Cass to that ladder in the corner and the big man just slid down afterwards. Good stuff there. But this night was always going to belong to the Hardys and Jeff hit his huge swanton off of the big ladder onto Sheamus and Cesaro and it looked pretty awesome, even if one of the ladders didn’t break like it was supposed to. While that was happening, Matt was climbing the ladder inside of the ring to claim their seventh tag team championship and it was easy to see how ecstatic they were to be back in WWE. The crowd loved it. I loved it. Everybody loved it.

What’s next: The return of Matt and Jeff should give a great boost to the tag division on Monday nights. It’s been better over the past few weeks as this three-way feud got going but this should take it to the next level as interest is certain to be high following last night. Hopefully they can continue this momentum and keep some focus on the division moving forward. A bout between The Club and The Hardys in the future should be outstanding.
