WWE WrestleMania 33 results and highlights from the clash between The Undertaker and Roman Reigns

Who’s yard is WWE nowadays? That’s a question that both ominous and a bit vague. However it was the question that both Roman Reigns and The Undertaker were trying to answer on Sunday night at WWE WrestleMania 33. Taker is a legend of the company and the business. However, Reigns is the up-and-comer, The Big Dog who’s ready to take his place atop the mantle as the man to beat in the company. Thus, the personal stakes were sky-hgihg on Sunday.

It was The Deadman that was in control early against Reigns. He first unloaded strikes on Roman and sent “The” Guy reeling to the outside to collect himself. When Reigns got back in the ring and tried to get on the offensive, though, Taker was barely fazed as a clothesline to the outside only saw him land on his feet.

When Roman followed, he was thrown into the steel steps for his trouble, The Deadman refusing to show an ounce of mercy or remorse.

The Undertaker took some shots after, sure. Roman Reigns wasn’t going to go down without a fight. That’s something that we’ve learned throughout his years in WWE. However, he seemed entirely unmatched against Taker at WrestleMania 33. The Deadman dished out one big blow after another, then looked to the announcer’s table to put him through one after Chokeslamming him on top of one.

Following that massive move, though, The Deadman was looking for something substantially bigger. He got back up on the announcer’s table and looked like he was about to go for a Tombstone through it. Instead, Undertaker got caught by a nasty-quick spear that sent him flying through a table himself.

Reigns then got in the ring and looked like he was ready to put Taker away—but that was until Undertaker sat up stiff and seemed ready for business. He got back in the ring and, though each landed big moves, the odds appeared quite event between the two. When Roman looked like he had the upper hand in the corner, he then at a Last Ride—though he kicked out.

With a chair in play in the No Holds Barred match, both looked for ways to use it. When Reigns abandoned that plight, though, it actually cost him. He landed two big Superman Punches, but Undertaker didn’t go down. Instead, he caught the third attempt at the punch and was caught and Chokeslammed onto the chair.

There was then a Tombstone—but even that wasn’t enough for the pin to stick on Roman.

Of course, that still wasn’t enough and the war at WrestleMania 33 raged on. Reigns hit a Spear, but somehow got caught in Hell’s Gate for his trouble. He then unloaded with a plethora of angry, massive chair shots. Two more Spears later, and Taker was still kicking out.

Frankly, Roman began to look more and more frustrated with each passing moment. He was in control and dishing out the punishment. But he couldn’t match the heart of Taker. The Deadman told him he couldn’t keep him down, then Roman finally found the recipe. He landed two big uppercuts and then basically a super Spear at high speed to put down The Undertaker. And with that, he was able to get the 1-2-3.

Laid out in the ring, Undertaker was showered with “Thank you, Taker” from the crowd before sitting up. Though there’s nothing definite, it sure felt like The Deadman’s last match.
