WWE WrestleMania 33 ended with a poignant moment, but it most certainly didn’t go off without a hitch—or without fire

There were many great moments throughout the night of Sunday, April 2 at the Citrus Bowl for WWE WrestleMania 33. The Hardy Boyz returned for the first time in seven years, and then won the RAW tag titles. There were also great matches between AJ Styles and Shane McMahon in addition to the likes of Triple H and Seth Rollins. However, the lasting moment also happened to be the final one of the show.

In the main event of WrestleMania 33, The Undertaker squared off with Roman Reigns. It was a brutal affair, but The Big Dog was able to claim WWE as his yard from the fabled Deadman. But after that, Roman left the ring. That left Taker all alone in the ring. He then took off his gloves, coat and hat and folded them into a pile in the middle of the ring.

Amidst pyro and chants of thanks for his decades of work, The Undertaker seemingly retired after WrestleMania 33. It was an emotional moment for all watching, both at home an in the stadium.

However, it was almost ruined in a bad way. While the pyro was going off on the extravagant Mania stage, a portion of it actually caught on fire, as shown in this picture taken by a fan in attendance for the show:

According to those at the show, the fire was put out quite quickly so that many may not have even noticed. It’s clear, though, that is a fire and that probably shouldn’t be on a stage that’s in the middle of over 70,000 people.

Thankfully, this fire wasn’t fully visible on TV and likely to many fans in attendance. Otherwise, one of the most poignant moments in the history of wrestling might’ve been ruined. With that said, maybe WWE should be sure to, you know, not catch their huge construction project on fire.
