For much of the 2016-17 Premier League season, it’s been the Chelsea show. After disappointing everyone a great deal with Jose Mourinho at the helm one year ago, everything’s changed. The arrival of Antonio Conte has manager has been huge. Now they have a chance to virtually lock up a league title on Wednesday with a titanic match vs. Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
Oddly enough, Chelsea struggled this past weekend to do much of anything positive. Thus, they fell to Crystal Palace in a match that should’ve been theirs. Now Conte will need to fire up the hearts of Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and the rest of the Blues. They’re well ahead—but not that well ahead.
And Manchester City is a club poised to try and make another pay for not being on their game. Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and more can just overwhelm most teams with talent. They just need to be sure they’re able to put it together and make a match of all of this.
