The Miami Dolphins have a few more needs they need to address on both sides of the ball, but who should they select to kick off their 2017 NFL draft?
One of Miami’s major needs is at the offensive line, as they were the 30th-ranked offensive line last season according to Pro Football Focus. With the 22nd-overall pick, the Dolphins could address this need with a few different options.
With the Dolphins focused on implementing a run-first approach with a budding star at running back Jay Ajayi, one prospect they could target is Forrest Lamp of Western Kentucky. He was a tackle in college, but many believe that he is best suited to play guard in the NFL, which would fill a huge void on their offensive line.
Pairing Lamp on an offensive line that already features tackles Laremy Tunsil and Ju’Wuan James, as well as center Mike Pouncey would give Miami stability on its offensive line for years to come.
Another need the Dolphins must address is the linebacker and defensive end positions. Miami suffered numerous injuries last season on defense, and it finished the season ranked 30th against the run.
A prospect Miami could target is Haason Reddick out of Temple. Reddick can play either defensive end or linebacker, and his versatility and speed would be a welcome addition to the Dolphins.
