Los Angeles Rams sign John Sullivan
The Los Angeles Rams continue to make free-agent moves nearly a month since it began. On Wednesday, the Rams signed veteran center John Sullivan to bolster their offensive line.
Heading into the free agency, the Los Angeles Rams needed to upgrade their offensive line. Over a six-game stretch, quarterback Jared Goff was sacked 25 times, which was the most in the NFL.
The Rams shored up the left side of the offensive line, signing left tackle Andrew Whitworth, but still needed to address other spots along the line.
Signing Sullivan ensures a veteran presence and a capable starter for the Rams, as they try to keep Goff upright in 2017.

Sullivan spent the last season with the Redskins, where Rams Head Coach Sean McVay was the offensive coordinator. In 2015, the veteran center missed the entire season due to injuries in his left knee.
The 32-year-old was a starter in Minnesota from 2009-2014, where he was part of a dominant offensive line that blocked for running back Adrian Peterson.
With the release of ex-center Tim Barnes, the Rams needed a center going into the NFL Draft and they’ve addressed the need with Sullivan.

Guard Rob Havenstein, right tackle Greg Robinson and Whitworth will likely fill out the rest of the offensive line. The group will need to block well if second-year quarterback Jared Goff is to improve, something Los Angeles is desperate to see after a poor rookie year.
