4. Bubba Watson’s hook shot in sudden-death (2012)

Like Sarazen before him, Bubba Watson has built a reputation in professional golf for his ability to out-drive everybody. Watson’s eccentricity on the golf course makes him a fan favorite, but an inconsistent golfer at that. When it does click for Watson, look out.

Watson would win his first Green Jacket back in 2012 with one of the greatest shots in tournament history. He would have to go into a sudden-death playoff with South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen to win his first major.

Oosthuizen had already won a major back in 2010 and was looking to add a Green Jacket to his legacy. Watson and Oosthuizen would both par the 18th hole to force a second playoff hole on 10. Then things started to get very interesting.

Neither golfer had a great hit off the tee bow. Oosthuizen’s would land in the rough, while Watson’s was hooked into the pine straw in the woods somewhere. From where Watson’s ball landed, he need a miraculous shot to beat Oosthuizen on 10 to win The Masters.

Watson’s recovery hook shot not only successfully got him out of the woods, but his ball landed 15 feet from the pin. While he would miss the birdie shot to win easily, Watson would sink the putt for par to win the Green Jacket in a very emotional manner. Watson is an emotional guy and he’ll never hit a bigger shot in his life.
