One of the best left tackle prospects in the 2017 NFL Draft is paying a visit to the Jacksonville Jaguars

It’s no secret the Jacksonville Jaguars have struggled to keep their quarterback, Blake Bortles, upright and the team is spending time with Alabama’s stud left tackle prospect, Cam Robinson, to help fix that issue.

The Jaguars have been shuffling through left tackles the last few seasons with names like Kelvin Beachum, Luke Joeckel and Eugene Monroe, to name a few.

The Jaguars gave up 34 sacks this past season, which was ranked 15th most in the NFL. This will have to be improved if the team has any hopes on Bortles improving his play.

The Jaguars did acquire former Miami Dolphins left tackle, Branden Albert, this offseason and he’s penciled in as the team’s starting left tackle to enter the 2017 season. The downside of Albert is durability and age (turns 33 in November).

Albert is signed through 2018, but given his health concerns (has only started 16 games once in nine seasons) and recent play, Robinson should still be considered as a candidate to be drafted by the Jaguars if the team wishes to trade back from the fourth-overall selection.

Robinson could also be a candidate to replace the team’s last year starting right tackle, Jermey Parnell, and then take over at left tackle upon Albert’s eventual departure.

Profootballfocus.com offered a scouting analysis of Robinson’s strengths, hitting on multiple reason why Jacksonville — or any other team — should take a shot on the Alabama standout.

We’ll see if this pre-draft visit is simply the Jaguars just doing their homework, or if there’s legitimate interest in the highly regarded Robinson.
