Undertaker receives ovation backstage after WWE WrestleMania 33 match (Video)
After his last match in WWE at WrestleMania 33, The Undertaker — bride in arm — was greeted with one final ovation backstage from his peers.
Unfortunately, WrestleMania 33 marked the end of The Undertaker’s soon-to-be WWE Hall of Fame career against Roman Reigns on Sunday night in Orlando.
The Deadman lost just the second match in his 25 career matches at the Show of Shows to The Big Dog in the main event on Sunday night, but the result really had nothing to do with the situation. This was it for The Phenom and the end of the match foretold the event that came after the show.
After The Undertaker left his famous gloves, trench coat and hat in the ring to close the show, he kissed his wife — former WWE Divas Champion Michelle McCool — followed by giving the crowd one final fist raise and then disappeared into the darkness.
Behind the curtain, there was nothing but admiration and respect shown for The Deadman from his peers backstage.
This was how The Undertaker was greeted after the match with Reigns:
It’s honestly difficult to fully describe how much The Undertaker means to professional wrestling. For almost 27 years, The Deadman has been the conscience of WWE. He’s been one of, if not, the most respected performer in the company for many years. If you’re a professional wrestler or a fan of pro wrestling in general, you probably have quite a few memories of The Phenom that will last a lifetime.
The time has been coming for The Deadman to hang up his boots for good, but even though now is a good time for him to, it still just doesn’t feel right. It felt like he was going to do this forever. (You know, kind of like how we expect the Kevin Owens-Sami Zayn feud to be.)

Still, it’s awesome to see one of the all-time greats greeted after his final match with so much respect.
