The Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback reportedly wants even more playmakers to be a part of an offense that is already full of firepower.

With players like Le’Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, Eli Rogers, and Ladarius Green, one would think that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would be more than satisfied with his offensive weapons heading into the 2017 NFL season. That isn’t the case according to reports from NFL Media’s Aditi Kinkhabwala that suggest the quarterback would like even more talent added to the team’s offense.

In 2016, the Steelers had one of the top offensive units in the entire league. They finished the year ranked seventh in total offense, fifth in passing, and 10th in points per game.

Despite their success, Roethlisberger obviously feels that Pittsburgh still has plenty to improve on the offensive side of the ball before next season.

Drafting a running back would not be out of the question for the Steelers since last year’s backup in DeAngelo Williams is now a free-agent. Pittsburgh could choose to add a rookie wide receiver in the draft, but suspended pass catcher Martavis Bryant is expected to be reinstated by the league sooner than later and would be an immediate improvement to the Steelers’ receiving group.

At 35-years-old, Roethlisberger knows his time in the NFL is creeping closer to the end. His lobbying for more weapons is probably just an indication that he wants to make sure his last few years in the league are as enjoyable as possible.
