DraftKings NBA Picks April 6
We have six games in the NBA tonight. While you don’t have Westbrook or Harden to choose from, there are plenty of other players to build your DraftKings lineup around. Who are the best? Let’s take a look at some stats and trends.

Last night the money line was at 269.5 DraftKings points. That is a pretty good total. One of my lineups made the money. Ironically, it was the stars and scrubs where
LeBron Jamesand
James Hardenscored enough to overcome the subpar game by
Thomas Robinson. The other lineup was derailed by poor games from
T.J. Warren,
Wilson Chandler, and
Gary Harris.
The winning lineup only had 334 points! He had the highest scoring player of the night in Stephen Curry to go with LeBron. The lineup survived a poor game by Emmanuel Mudiay by hitting the value on James Johnson and Tony Allen. It could be us tonight!
I can’t stress enough how important it is to watch our Twitter feed right up until lock time. We will try and relay the information out to you as soon as we can, along with any lineup changes. If you can’t do that, it may be best to avoid any of the later games. With the season running down, playoff contenders are sitting players more and more, and there isn’t always a lot of advanced notice.

Point Guards
Best Bets:
John Wall ($9,900): The Knicks are tough on point guards, but Wall has a healthy 49.4 DraftKIngs point average in three games against them. Now that Derrick Rose is done, Wall should have an even clearer path to the basket in this one. The Wizards are still fighting for playoff seeding with Toronto, so Wall should get plenty of run tonight.
Damian Lillard ($8,800): Portland is another team fighting for a playoff seed. Lillard put up 44.5 DraftKings points on Minnesota Monday. If he does it again, and there is a good chance that he does, he is a solid 5x value.
Honorable Mention:
Elfrid Payton ($7,700): The Nets are bad, and Payton has abused bad teams lately. He has 79.5 DraftKings points in two games against the Nets this year. Considering how well he has played since the beginning of March, Payton could wind up being a huge bargain tonight.
Ricky Rubio ($7,600): Rubio picked up 44.75 DraftKings points against Portland on Monday night. He and Lillard should put on another show, and it’s very possible that Rubio could score just as much as Lillard once again. All at a much lower price.
Dark Horses:
Jeremy Lin ($6,500): Lin has at least 27 DraftKings points in each of the last six games. His price is to the point where he may not be a bargain anymore, but he has done all of this while playing 30 minutes or less. If the Nets are going to raise his minutes little by little, Lin could flirt with 6x value.
Ron Baker ($4,000): Baker has been given the starting reins with Rose out, and so far the results have been mixed. In two of the games he has had over 6x value. In the other two, he has been under 4x. If he could land somewhere in the middle, we could all feel a lot better about using him. However, he is still an intriguing GPP play because there is upside.
My picks: Rubio(PG); Payton(PG), Baker(G)
Shooting Guards
Best Bets:
Jimmy Butler ($9,700): Butler has averaged 53.9 DraftKings points in three games against the Sixers so far this year. The blowout potential could hurt his bottom line. Then again, they lost to the Knicks on Tuesday, so this could stay close throughout. Butler continues to produce huge lines in the absence of Dwyane Wade. That wont change.
C.J. McCollum ($6,900): McCollum has averaged 46.3 DraftKings points in three games against Minnesota this year. He was a little below average against them earlier this week, but that had more to do with his poor shooting night. If his shot falls like it did against Utah, McCollum will be much closer to that season average against Minnesota.
Honorable Mention:
Avery Bradley ($6,000): Was Bradley still feeling sick last night? He had a horrible night against the Cavs in a game in which the Celtics were just dominated. Bradley only played 14 minutes in the first meeting with the Hawks, but he still picked up 13 DraftKings points. Boston still has an outside shot at getting the top seed, but they need to play like they want it. Something is telling me they are going to come out ready here.
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot ($5,600): TLC continues his consistently good play. That’s the key: he’s consistent. Luwawu-Cabarrot has at least 24 DraftKings points in every game since being handed the reins as a starter. This kind of consistency with a healthy dose of upside makes him a DFS darling in all formats.
Dark Horses:
Marcus Smart ($5,000): The whole Celtics team was cold last night, and that includes Smart. However, he still has a consistent minutes load off the bench that could increase if Bradley’s ailment is still bugging him. Keep an eye on the starting lineup here as Boston could throw in the towel on the one seed and rest some players. If they do, Smart could become a huge value.
Nik Stauskas ($4,400): Whereas TLC has been consistent, Stauskas has not. He has averaged 21.5 DraftKings points per game in three tries against the Bulls. He has at least 5x value in four of the last give games. The game he missed was against Brooklyn. Go figure. That makes it hard to predict just what he will do.
Jodie Meeks ($3,000): Meeks has quietly returned from injury to become the scorer the Magic desperately needed off the bench. His minutes are creeping up to around 20 per night. He has three straight games of double digit points. One of those was against the Nets. Meeks looks like a nice value play again.
My pick: Luwawu-Cabarrot(SG), Smart(G); Luwawu-Cabarrot(SG)
Small Forwards
Best Bets:
Giannis Antetokounmpo ($9,800): Giannis has averaged 51.6 DraftKings points in three games against the Pacers. He struggled against the Thunder, but dominated the Mavs, Pistons, and Celtics before that. He does a lot of everything, so most nights he is at least near 5x value. The fact that you can play him at PG or SF helps too. When does he gain PF eligibilty on DraftKings?
Paul George ($8,900): George has been on fire lately. He has only been under 44 DraftKings points twice in the last ten games, and has even topped 70 in that span. If you are going to spend the money anyway, George may even have more upside than Giannis right now!
Honorable Mention:
Andrew Wiggins ($7,000): Wiggins has finally found some solid ground after a tumultuous couple weeks following the All Star break. Rubio is taking some of the scoring load left by Zach LaVine, which leaves Wiggins scoring in the mid to high 20’s once again. He picked up 34.25 DraftKings points on Portland over the weekend. He is a solid 5x value right now.
Khris Middleton ($5,900): Instead of playing the will he or wont he game with Carmelo Anthony, I will instead opt for Middleton. He picked up 29.75 DraftKings points in his first game with the Pacers. He has at least 5x value in seven of the last ten games. Middleton looks to have another good game tonight.
Dark Horses:
Otto Porter ($5,100): Porter has averaged 33.4 DraftKings points in three games against the Knicks. The caveat here is that Porter is only playing about 25 minutes per game over the last two weeks as opposed to the 32 he has averaged against the Knicks earlier this year. That said, even at 25 minutes, 5x value seems likely.
Alex Poythress ($4,000): Poythress ripped up the D-League this year, so why not give him a shot? He has 44 DraftKings points over 52 minutes in his two games with the Sixers so far. It looks as though Philadelphia is going to keep playing him meaningful minutes, so there is upside here. He has been solid in his first two games.
My Pick: Middleton(SF); George(SF)
Power Forwards
Best Bets:
Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,200): Towns picked up 50 DraftKings points against the Blazers over the weekend. They are significantly weaker up front without Jusuf Nurkic, so Towns should have no issues hitting 50 again. Will that make him the highest scorer of the night?
Aaron Gordon ($6,500): With Dario Saric on a minutes limit for the rest of the year, I will hit up the value of Aaron Gordon again. He disappointed on Tuesday against Cleveland, but he has 80 DraftKings points in two games against the Nets this year. I will gladly take 40 from him tonight at this price!
Honorable Mention:
Nikola Mirotic ($6,000): Mirotic has taken the power forward job and run with it. He has at least 5x value in five of the last six games. He and Jimmy Butler seem to work very well together. This helps the Bulls in their quest for a playoff berth. Look for both of them to log significant minutes as they try to get to the postseason.
Al-Farouq Aminu ($5,000): Aminu was dominant against the Timberwolves on Monday, racking up 44.25 DraftKings points. He isn’t starting, but Aminu still plays at least 30 minutes off the bench in every game, and has far more fantasy value than anyone else in the Portland frontcourt right now.
Dark Horses:
Noah Vonleh ($4,000): Aminu is the only Blazer in the frontcourt getting consistent minutes riight now, but considering how Vonleh did against the Timberwolves on Monday, he should see the bigger run over Meyers Leonard tonight. Vonleh had 24.5 DraftKings points on Monday night.
Maurice Ndour ($3,700): Ndour started at power forward against the Bulls and racked up 36 DraftKings points. They have nothing to play for and no reason to rush Kristaps Porzingis back, so look for Ndour to see a lot more minutes down the stretch based on this performance. Make sure to check the starting lineup, otherwise you never know what you’re going to get as far as minutes go. If he doesn’t start, stay away.
My pick: Gordon(PF), Aminu(F); Gordon(PF), Mirotic(F)
Center
Best Bets:
Nikola Vucevic ($7,400): As expected, Dwight Howard‘s production decreased with the return of Paul Millsap on Sunday. Meanwhile, Vucevic has racked up 97.25 DraftKings points in just two games against Brooklyn this year. That is a huge total for his price range, and makes him a must-play tonight.
Brook Lopez ($7,000): Lopez has given to Orlando what they have taken from him. Lopez has 85.75 DraftKings points in two games against the Magic. Playing both centers in this game is a solid strategy if you want to finish in the money.
Honorable Mention:
Richaun Holmes ($6,000): Holmes isn’t the most consistent play either, but considering how thin the Sixers are up front, you are essentially betting that the minutes equal stats. They have for Holmes when he keeps out of foul trouble. He has at least 5x value in four of the last six games. In one of those, he played just 24 minutes because of foul trouble. If you need to save some money, you can fade the Brooklyn-Orlando game for the lesser owned Holmes.
Willy Hernangomez ($5,400): Even with the unsettled situation in the frontcourt, Hernangomez has had between 22 and 30 DraftKings points per game in all but one of the last nine. In the one that he wasn’t, he had 46. Hernangomez is a solid play with some upside right now.
Dark Horses:
Kyle O’Quinn ($4,900): O’Quinn has 84.75 DraftKings points with Porzingis out over three games. He has been getting even better as he goes along, racking up 39.5 against the Bulls on Tuesday. Washington is resting most of their starters for nearly half the game to get ready for the playoffs. Marcin Gortat has seen his minutes steadily decline over the last month. O’Quinn will have a relatively easy road to value so long as the Knicks are still beat up up front.
Shawn Long ($4,200): Long still isn’t playing a lot of minutes, but he has at least 20 DraftKings points in six of the last eight games. That makes Long an enticing value play, even though he doesn’t have a whole lot of upside.
My pick: Vucevic(C), Lopez(UTIL); Lopez(C), Long(UTIL)
