Taking a look at when the 2017 Clemson Football Spring Game will be played
It was almost exactly three months ago that Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers were keeping fans on the edge of their seats in the National Championship Game. With a late touchdown pass from Deshaun Watson to Hunter Renfrow, the Tigers captured their first title since 1981. However, things are about to change for the Tigers in 2017, which means all eyes should be on the 2017 Clemson Football Spring Game.
The Clemson Football Spring Game will be wrought with storylines that fans need to watch out for. Obviously the biggest thing to keep an eye on will be who is stepping up in the roles that the Tigers’ big playmakers from one year ago are leaving behind. On both sides of the ball, there are frankly quite a few of them.
Watson and Jordan Leggett are both gone for the offense, but so too are running back Wayne Gallman and wide receiver Mike Williams. As arguably the four most integral offensive pieces for Clemson last season, it’ll be interesting to see what Swinney has as the next step.
Meanwhile, the defense also lost several key pieces from last year. In the secondary, someone will need to replace the tremendous Cordrea Tankersley. In the middle of the line, Carlos Watkins leaves a major hole. Perhaps more important than any loss, though, someone on the defense will need to assume the leadership role previously held by linebacker Ben Boulware.
Needless to say, there’s plenty to keep an eye on for the 2017 Clemson Football Spring Game. But so you can keep an eye on it, you also need to know when it’ll be played.
