Marshawn Lynch rumors: Raiders won’t have to trade much to Seahawks
By Conor Myles
The Oakland Raiders will be able to get coveted Marshawn Lynch from the Seahawks for a low asking price.
It’s now the league’s worst kept secret. Former Seattle Seahawks star running back Marshawn Lynch has plans to unretire and play in 2017.
The five-time Pro Bowl running back wishes to take his talents to the Raiders and play in front of his hometown team in Oakland. There’s mutual interest in this pairing also, as the Raiders had Lynch in for a visit this week.
Jason Cole of Bleacher Report is reporting that the Raiders won’t have to give up much compensation to acquire the rights to the Seahawks running back either.
Cole implied that Lynch holds all the cards in term of leverage with the Seahawks. He stated that by unretiring, the Seahawks would owe Lynch $5 million for the 2017 season, which wouldn’t benefit them due to the team signing running back Eddie Lacy this offseason.
Everything is pointing in the direction of Lynch suiting up for the Raiders in 2017.
The interest, the visit, and now the reports of the Raiders not having to give up much compensation wise to acquire his contract rights is basically the stars aligning for Lynch playing in front of his hometown.
The only thing left is Jack Del Rio giving the thumbs up to bring Lynch aboard.
Even Raiders young stud quarterback Derek Carr was there to greet Lynch in the Raiders facility during his visit with the team.
It seems as if we are just days away from seeing Lynch’s introductory press conference in Oakland as a member of the Raiders.

There’s still a few things to iron out, mainly a trade with the Seahawks, but if Cole’s report is true, that won’t be a hard hurdle to overcome.
