The 2017 Michigan Football Spring Game will help tell us if Jim Harbaugh’s revamped group is on the way to a title, but when will it be played?
Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines slipped up a few too many times at the end of the 2016 college football season. An upset loss to Iowa, a late-game collapse to rival Ohio State and then a heartbreaking defeat in the Orange Bowl left a season full of title hopes with three losses. However, the Wolverines hope that the 2017 season is much better for them. And that’s why the 2017 Michigan Football Spring Game will be so intriguing.
Of course, everyone is expecting some sort of antics from Harbaugh because that’s the norm at this point. However, there’s much more than that for fans to keep an eye on for the 2017 Michigan Football Spring Game. Frankly, it’s all about where they can get better given what they’ve lost.
The defense loses several key playmakers, most notably in Jabrill Peppers, but also including Jourdan Lewis, Taco Charlton and Chris Wormley. However, the Wolverines have at least some reinforcements coming. Rashan Gary looks to shine on the edge as the No. 1 overall recruit from the 2016 class as his role increases. Incoming freshman defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon should also be a factor on the defense.
On the other side of the ball, everyone should be watching Wilton Speight in his final season. He was mediocre at best last season and will need to take leaps forward, which hopefully shows during the spring game. They’ll also have eyes at running back looking for De’Veon Smith’s replacement.
Clearly the storylines are frequent and prevalent when you look at the 2017 Michigan Football Spring Game. So then, when can fans tune in to watch?
