Richard Sherman has been one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL for the past few seasons, but his time with the Seattle Seahawks may be coming to an end.
For the past few seasons, Richard Sherman has played a big role in the Seattle Seahawks rise into one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Legion of Boom has yielded a Super Bowl win, while also helping make the Seahawks one of the best teams in football. However, it appears the two sides may be headed for a split, as not only are the Seahawks taking calls for trade, but also making them.
Staying with the Seattle Seahawks, while they failed to make a deal happen with free agent running back Adrian Peterson a few weeks ago, another NFC team may be looking to sign him. The New Orleans Saints will host the former All-Pro running back this week, making them the third team he has visited this free agency period. Peterson is getting up there in age, and he may be only able to find a job as a backup at this point.
Running backs will be at a premium in this year’s draft, and there are some good ones in the current draft class. The Carolina Panthers plan to host two of the biggest names at the position before the draft, as they will be bringing in Christian McCaffrey and Leonard Fournette. Fournette is the favorite to be the first running back off the board in three weeks, but McCaffrey is making a steady charge up the draft board.
Speaking of running backs who will likely go in the first round, Florida State’s Dalvin Cook will also be making his rounds prior to the draft. The speedster is expected to visit the San Francisco 49ers, who hold the No. 2 pick in the draft. While Cook will likely not be selected with the second overall pick, maybe the 49ers are looking at the possibility of him possibly falling to them early in the second round.

Finally, a bit of small news on a slow NFL day. The Baltimore Ravens have signed wide receiver Michael Campanaro to a one-year deal, inking the 26-year-old to a contract worth $2 million. The deal includes a $250,000 signing bonus, and $250,000 roster bonus. The Ravens lost Steve Smith Sr. to retirement this offseason, so bringing back Campanaro gives them a bit more depth at the position heading into the draft.
