Following the arrest of San Francisco 49ers’ CB Tramaine Brock on Friday morning, he was immediately released by the team.

The San Francisco 49ers seem to be a completely new franchise under John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan. They aren’t wasting any time with releasing players that have issues with the law.

Early on Friday morning, NBC’s Robert Handa reported that Tramaine Brock was arrested for his involvement in a domestic incident.

Then the reports continued to give us more details on Brock’s arrest, explaining that the involved female had visible injuries. He was arrested on felony domestic violence and booked at the Santa Clara County jail.

Brock was released on bail on Friday afternoon, saying “I really got nothing to say about it,” as he left the jail. But not only was Brock released from jail, he was released by the San Francisco 49ers immediately.

John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan made a succinct statement following Brock’s arrest, saying that they had released the defensive back. Brock was penciled in to be a starting cornerback in the new 49ers defense alongside CB Rashard Robinson. But now the 49ers will have to look to the draft and their younger guys for secondary help.

This continues to show the improvement of the 49ers’ culture, as John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan aren’t putting up with any more nuisance from the players.

Baalke and the old regime were patient with Aldon Smith, Ray McDonald or Chris Culliver, but Lynch didn’t even hesitate to pull the trigger on Brock.

Still, this might not have been entirely an off-the-field decision, Brock’s production has been declining and his cap hit was starting to increase. I had thought that they would have moved on from him earlier this offseason, but the domestic violence issue was the nail in his coffin.

The 49ers continue to build a strong culture under the leadership of John Lynch, but it’ll be vital to find a starting cornerback opposite Robinson.
