18. The Undertaker vs. Mark Henry – WrestleMania 22

This was The Undertaker’s 14th match at WrestleMania, as well as his first and only Casket Match at the event. One of his two matches against Kane maybe should have had this stipulation but they decided to go ahead with this against … Mark Henry? Hmmm, I wonder who’s going to win that one. I know they were pushing the streak pretty hard at this point but at least do something that makes us think he might lose. And that’s not a knock on Mark Henry, but come on.

This match came about after Henry had cost The Undertaker a World Heavyweight Championship match on an episode of SmackDown a few weeks earlier against Kurt Angle, and this was a way for ‘Taker to exact his revenge. ‘Taker’s entrance was pretty solid as the druids brought the casket to the ringside area but The Deadman was down early after Henry attacked him at the outset. The World’s Strongest Man hit a big clothesline and rammed him into the steps on the outside. He even blocked “Old School” and continued his assault before trying to get ‘Taker into the casket. But he fought it off and eventually did hit “Old School,” but was overpowered for a moment before dodging a splash as Henry rolled into the casket.

The two fought it out in there for a minute before getting back in the ring and Henry embarrassed himself by going for a pin after a powerslam but we’ll let that go. He tried to slide ‘Taker into the casket but The Phenom wasn’t having it and would later hit The Last Ride after Henry tried the ten-punch deal in the corner. Henry was then thrown onto the top of the casket and rolled onto the floor as ‘Taker hit the ropes and hit an amazing plancha over the top rope AND over the casket. Very impressive athleticism. Back in the ring, ‘Taker hits a nice Tombstone on Henry and rolled him into the casket and shut the lid for yet another WrestleMania win. 14-0.
