Kurt Angle was just named the new WWE RAW general manager upon his return to TV, but there could be more for him in his near future

The moment that Kurt Angle was announced as the headlining member of the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class, there were two reactions from fans. First, it was delight and elation that Angle was returning and being honored in such away. Soon behind that reaction, though, often came questions of if we were going to see Kurt Angle wrestle in a WWE ring again.

On the episode of WWE RAW after WrestleMania 33, fans got to see something close to that. Following Mick Foley being on-screen fired a few weeks ago, Vince McMahon was out and announced that Angle would be the new general manager of WWE RAW. Angle came out to huge cheers and love from fans. But even then, there still seems to be something more on the horizon.

Angle has been wrestling in either TNA or on the independent scene recently and for the majority of the time since he left WWE. Thus, we all know that he can still go, but it’s all about his. And apparently, that’s the way the company is thinking too.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer said on Friday when asked on Twitter that the current plan is indeed to have Kurt Angle wrestling in a WWE ring again. However, he added the caveat that those plans are assuming that the Olympic Gold Medalist can pass a physical.

Having faced numerous neck, knee and a plethora of injuries multiple times throughout his career (in addition to his demons with addiction), Angle has miles on the tires. Thus, him passing a physical is definitely not a foregone conclusion. That being said, it’s hard not to want to see the Olympic Hero back grappling in the WWE.
