The Florida State Seminoles will take the field for their spring game on April 8. Here’s how you can watch.
After a 10-3 season in 2016, the Florida State Seminoles are projected to once again be among the top teams in the Power 5. Despite losing several starters, they have an impressive recruiting class and their backups appear ready to step in. Fans will get their first look at the 2017 Seminoles on Saturday, April 8. This is when they will hold their annual spring game. The fun starts at 3:00 p.m. ET at Doak Campbell Stadium.
Deondre Francois will be the starting quarterback. He had a promising freshman season but must show growth in his second season. Jimbo Fisher is hoping Francois is ready to command the offense. The redshirt sophomore must be in charge if they want to have a chance at beating the Alabama Crimson Tide to open the season and compete with Clemson for the ACC championship.
Cam Akers, a five-star running back recruit, should get an immediate opportunity to replace Dalvin Cook. Backup running back Jacques Patrick will likely get some reps as well. Akers is more dynamic than him and could be one of the best freshmen in the nation. Replacing Cook will be key and the spring game should provide some answers.
The Seminoles will be losing several offensive weapons, but are adding five-star wide receiver Joshua Kaindoh and four-star offensive weapon Bailey Hockman. The defense will also be getting a talent infusion as well. Four-star corner Stanford Samuels and four-star safety Cyrus Fagan will also be joining the Seminoles.
