The Oklahoma Sooners are taking the field for their spring football game on Saturday April 8. Here’s how you can watch.
The Oklahoma Sooners are under a lot of pressure in 2017. They won the Big 12 in 2016 and won a bowl game. However, losses to Houston and Ohio State cost them a chance to bring home a national championship. After experiencing some offseason departures, the Sooners expectations are sky high.
Fans will get to see their team take the field for the first time when they have their spring game. The spring game will be held on Saturday April 8 beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET. New players will be taking the field as they hope to replace various players who should get picked in the 2017 NFL Draft.
One position the Sooners won’t have to worry about is quarterback. Barring an injury, Baker Mayfield should be one of the top quarterbacks in college football. He should be a serious Heisman Trophy candidate and is likely the early favorite.
Both fans and players are starting to get weary of dominating the Big 12. Despite their dominance, they have just one national title in the 21st century to show for it. They’ll need someone other than Mayfield to step up and lead. Especially after Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine, their two leading rushers from last season, left for the NFL Draft.

The Sooners have some very talented players to replace. Luckily, they’re bringing in a very talented recruiting class. Four star running back Trey Sermon should get chances to replace Mixon and Perine, although he won’t be at the spring game.
